How the match works
There's no right answer, so we don't fake one. No one can say which Premier League club a Jets fan should support. What we can do is score every team, yours and all twenty in the league, on the same seven traits, then find the club that most resembles the teams you already follow. The goal is a match that holds up when a friend argues with it, not a fact.
- Pedigree: all-time great down to perennial underdog.
- Current form: contender right now down to a rough patch.
- Stage: global megaclub down to local pride.
- Torment: spoiled winner down to heartbreak built into the badge.
- Style: entertainers who chase goals down to grinders who chase results.
- Soul: rooted and organic down to bankrolled to the top.
- Fan devotion: diehards who show up when it's grim down to a front-running crowd.
- Every team, yours and the league's, carries a score from 0 to 100 on all seven traits.
- Your picks blend into a single profile. Star your main team and it counts double.
- We measure how close your profile sits to each of the twenty clubs across all seven traits, weighting the two groups evenly.
- The closest club wins. The percentage is how close you landed.
Take a Cleveland Browns fan. Here's how the Browns and Everton line up, trait by trait.
They sit closest on stage, style, and soul, and they share the two things a fanbase feels hardest: torment and devotion. Everton comes out on top at 88%.
The trait scores are our judgment, argued from history and reputation. The percentage is stretched so a strong fit reads high and a weak one reads low. If a result feels wrong to you, that's fair, and it's kind of the point.
